ABOUT SmokefreehousingNW.com

Welcome to Smokefreehousing NW.com

SmokefreehousingNW.com was created by the Portland-Vancouver Metro Area Smokefree Housing Project, a successful public health initiative that was active from 2006-2010. Composed of the American Lung Association in Oregon and the Health Departments of Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah and Washington counties, the Project worked to protect renters from secondhand smoke in their homes by increasing the number of smokefree rental properties in the four-county Portland-Vancouver Metro Area.

Since its inception, several more Oregon and Washington state web resources have been launched. Nationally, there are many smokefree housing resources and people working across the country to protect renters from involuntary secondhand smoke exposure.

Current resources include:

- Oregon's Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP)- local county health departments:
Local TPEP coordinators in each county are funded to promote smokefree policies in rental housing. Find your local TPEP coordinator.

-In Clark County (WA), contact Clark County Public Health's Tobacco Prevention and Education Program.

- Oregon's Smokefree Housing Project

- SmokefreeWashington.com

-Smokefree housing resources in other states
